Helicopter carrier / amphibious assault ship

Sea

A large ship with a flat deck for helicopters (and sometimes short-take-off jets) plus a floodable dock at the back for landing craft. It carries marines and their vehicles to land them on a coast.
These ships are also widely used for disaster relief because they bring helicopters, hospitals and supplies to areas that cannot be reached by road.
