Fighter jet

Air

A fast, agile combat aircraft built to win control of the sky by destroying enemy aircraft, and in most modern designs also to strike ground and sea targets ('multirole').
Aircraft are grouped into 'generations': 4th-generation jets (e.g. F-16, Su-30) are highly capable; 5th-generation jets (F-35, F-22, J-20, Su-57) add stealth shaping and advanced sensors that make them hard to detect on radar.
